Westmead International School Celebrates 17th Founding Anniversary with Week-Long Festivities Westmead International School proudly marks its 17th Founding Anniversary with the theme “WIS @ 17: Elevating Excellence: Uniting Leadership, Innovation, and Service,” hosted by the School of Criminology. This milestone celebration brings together students, faculty, alumni, and the entire WIS community for a week-long series of dynamic, engaging, and meaningful activities from December 1 to December 8, 2023. The celebration opens on December 1 with a Thanksgiving Mass at 7:30 AM, followed by a lively College Flashmob and the Mr. and Miss Westmead 2023 Pre-Pageant and Talent Search. The afternoon features the Christmas ID Presentation, Show Choir, and the highly anticipated Festival of Music and Christmas Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 PM at the Kauntian. The excitement continues on December 4, with the Basic Education Event running from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The day also includes a Poster Making and Research Forum (Faculty) and the academic-focused Quiz Bee. On December 5, literary excellence takes center stage with performances in Spoken Poetry, Sabayang Pagbigkas, Declamation, and Extemporaneous Speech. The Short Opening Ceremony sets the tone for the Mr. and Miss Sportsfest 2023 and the electrifying Rave Party at 5:30 PM. December 6 unleashes a showcase of creativity and talent with a full-day lineup beginning at 7:30 AM, featuring the Cheer Dance Competition, Cosplay Competition, Dance Sports, Modern Dance Competition, Vocal Solo Competition, and the fan-favorite Battle of the Bands at 2:00 PM. On December 7, traditional and academic events are featured with Palarong Pinoy, a Research Forum, and Bingo Social. The grand culmination will be the Mr. and Miss Westmead 2023 Coronation and the Awarding of Winners in the afternoon. Finally, on December 8, the celebration extends beyond the campus with a special Extension Service at Gawad Kalinga (GK) led by SOC, SC, faculty members, and various student organizations, emphasizing WIS’s commitment to community service. This founding celebration not only honors the rich legacy of Westmead International School but also strengthens the core values of leadership, innovation, and service—uniting the WIS community in a vibrant and meaningful way.
