CITCS and Sophie’s Information Technology Inc. Hold HKNL 2025: Strengthening Knowledge in Information Security

The College of Information Technology and Computer Studies (CITCS) of Westmead International School (WIS), in partnership with Sophie’s Information Technology Inc., successfully conducted HKNL 2025, a one-day in-house seminar dedicated to advancing knowledge and awareness in Information Security.
Held for 3rd and 4th Year BSCS and BSIT students, the seminar provided an engaging and insightful learning experience that emphasized the importance of cybersecurity principles and real-world applications. The event aimed to equip future IT professionals with the skills and mindset needed to safeguard data, systems, and digital infrastructures in today’s rapidly evolving cyber landscape.
The seminar featured two distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and professional insights on critical areas of information security:
- Mr. Reymart Castillo – Information Security Awareness Training and Cybersecurity: Towards a Safer Digital Horizon
- Mr. Bien Beryl Zamora – The Value of Training and Certification in Information Security and Physical Security Fundamentals: Lock Picking and Countermeasures
Through interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, students gained a deeper understanding of how to identify vulnerabilities, implement protective measures, and uphold ethical practices in the field of cybersecurity. 
HKNL 2025 stands as part of CITCS’s continuous effort to provide industry-aligned learning experiences that prepare students for the challenges and responsibilities of modern technology professions.
