It is where aspirations begin to take form and where future innovators start building their dreams into reality. \nA First Step That Means Everything\nOn March 22\, 2026\, an initial gathering brought together freshmen engineering students in an atmosphere filled with excitement\, dreams\, and determination. It was a moment of realization—a first glimpse into the blueprint of their future\, guided by the voices and experiences of those who have already walked the path. \n \nAs shared during the event\, “Every future is built from the courage to begin.” This message resonated deeply among students as they embraced the start of their academic and professional journey. \nExploring Pathways\, Building Possibilities\nThe Engineering Orientation highlighted the diverse opportunities within the department—featuring one department\, six majors\, and a world of possibilities. Students were introduced to the educational pathways that will guide them toward becoming visionary professionals in their chosen fields. \nMore than academic preparation\, the program emphasized innovation\, purpose\, and the role of engineers in shaping the future. At Westmead\, students are not only taught to study the past—they are empowered to build what comes next. \n\nExternal Orientation: Learning from the Experts\nA key highlight of the program was the External Orientation Meeting held on March 27\, 2026\, at 7 Cardels Function Hall\, Gulod Itaas\, Batangas City. This significant event opened doors to real-world insights\, mentorship\, and professional inspiration. \nDistinguished and licensed engineers were invited as guest speakers\, sharing their expertise\, experiences\, and journeys in transforming theory into impactful practice. Their presence served as a powerful reminder that success in engineering is built on dedication\, perseverance\, and continuous learning. \nEchoing this sentiment\, the words of Theodore von Kármán inspired attendees:“Scientists study the world as it is; engineers create the world that has never been.” \nFrom Uncertainty to Vision\nDuring the March 27 event\, what began as a room filled with curiosity and uncertainty evolved into a space of clarity\, vision\, and purpose.
